Went hiking today with a friend and she mentioned Cookbook, a modest 500-square foot curated grocery store in Echo Park. Cookbook's mission: quality over quantity, honesty over hype, neighborliness over expansionism.

Working out of Society Creative's studio today in San Francisco and stopped by a small shop on Hyde + Ellis called Hooker's Sweet Treats. The shop is only 8 months old and they sell coffee, salted caramels and small amount of baked goods. I wish I had more time to chat with the owner, I didn't even get his name!
I'm not a fan of caramel but his salty chocolate covered caramels ($2 ea.) were pretty good!
